I have been to Pullman Bangsar, Pullman Putrajaya but that's my very first time stepped into Pullman KLCC last Monday. I have been told by Camilia Yim that Pullman KLCC is the only Pullman flagship hotel in Malaysia. That well explained the impressive dining experience here with a wide spread of different offerings for Ramadhan Buffet. If you have no idea where is this hotel, it is strategically located opposite Pavillion KL.
The hotel's premier restaurant for breaking fast, Sedap Restaurant dinner buffet continues to flourish with a range of sumptuous cuisines such as nasi mandy kambing, Japanese maki rolls, bakar-bakar streets, goreng-goreng stations and other favourite dishes of your choice.
At one glance, I thought that was a pasar malam (night market) outside the hotel restaurant. But I was wrong, all the food stalls were actually food stations by Sedap Restaurant. Those were the hot served food like satay, otak-otak, dim-sum, takoyaki or anything that needs to be grilled, fried or steam.
There was a live band available at the restaurant which playing Raya themed song.
I was "wowed" when I first saw the cute pau at the steaming rack. How dare you put this in your mouth? I can't stop admiring the chef's work.
Grilled lamb
The chef was busy preparing the otak-otak (marinated fish paste in the leaf) and satay. All food was served hot and fresh.
The sushi station also serving a generous amount of ingredients for its sushi. You can find sashimi here as well!
Colourful tasty traditional kuih and modern desserts are seen in the dessert area. The "tree" at the dessert table caught my attention as they were arranged with pieces of edible dried dates and kiwi fruit in slices.
I liked how this hotel always makes their food unique and different from others. This included the pretzel served with bread pudding.
If you think what we having just now is not enough, then you can ask the chef at the noodle station to prepare you a bowl of noodles from a selection of laksa Johor, laksa Buyung (Penang), laksa Sarawak, and mee Jawa.
Since there was nobody at the station, I had a chance to ask the chef about the differences among many laksa choices there which originated from different states in Malaysia. He explained that laksa Sarawak tastes with more herbs, while laksa Penang more soury with asam added, and laksa Johor giving more mouthfeel with coconut milk added. Anyone has any comment on this?
One can also find Kerabu corner which you can have a chance of making one yourself.
There were also many Malay traditional dishes served at the Ramadhan buffet which I did not feature at this post. I could tell from my dining experience, we never get bored of eating here due to the variety and uniqueness of some dishes served to differ from other hotels. It is quite pleasant of visiting this hotel as they are innovative in creating new experiences for their guests in every celebration.
