Recommended Place to Eat @ Batam ~ Wey Wey Live Seafood

I was brought to Wey Wey Live Seafood for dinner during the first-night stay. I never expected Batam has such a place for seafood dining. Well, if you been to Batam Island before, you would know that the place is not developed like KL city.

Batam does not have any public bus or train service. To travel to one place to another, you have to catch the taxi and bargain the price. And you could choose to walk to this place like my friends did when no vehicles coming to fetch them back to hotel. However, I advise that you walk with a bunch of friends of 5 and above since the road is quiet and dark at night. In Batam, no much shops open for business. I saw most of the shops surrounding my hotel are open for religious purpose.

There is a stretch of seafood restaurants along the riverside. We walked into the Wey Wey Live Seafood and to our surprise, there are many Chinese visitors too. A few taxi drivers waiting outside the restaurant waiting for the customers hail for service.

We saw a lot of different live seafood in the aquarium at the restaurant which could be spotted while walking on the boardwalk.

One of the specialities of Batam cuisine is Siput gonggong. The local tour guide said this gonggong crustacean able to increase inner strength of men.

Our dinner for the night. Sorry I have no idea how much of the total for this dinner. But then I heard from others that the restaurant charge a reasonable price for the seafood. But I advise asking for the price before ordering as the menu does not have any price shown.
