Mossy forest at Cameron Highlands is one of the latest attractions there. It's a bit challenging to come up by yourself and advised to come with 4WD. The road is narrow and half of the route is the same as the way going up to BOH Tea Plantation. So you could plan to visit mossy forest when you visiting BOH Tea Plantation.
The boardwalk of the mossy forest is just built by Jabatan Perhutanan Negeri Pahang. It was not completed when I visited.
According to the tour guide, the boardwalk is made to protect the mossy forest from damage by the visitors.
There is a viewing tower. It looks like under construction in the basement of the tower.
The mossy forest is located 2000m from the sea level.

I'm standing at the borderline of Perak and Pahang. My right leg in Perak while my left leg in Pahang.
The view here was breathtaking. Nevertheless, I was trembling for its cold breeze.
After the boardwalk, we were brought to a nature walk in a mossy forest. It was once very beautiful before this place becomes popular. The tour guide said the authority will close this place afterwards. So we were lucky to follow this tour as if not normal visitors are not allowed to come in.
It was clear in the mossy forest. If the weather was cold or raining, there would be mist blanketing the forest.
The tour guide showed us the tiger balm leaves he picked from the mossy forest. It smelt exactly the the end product we used.
He picked another and told that this leaf with 2 different colours side could be used as natural eye shadow applying on our eyelids.
Another one he showed us is the one displayed above. It was traditionally used for wound healing. To recognize the plant. it must have a pink flower together.
We also saw 2 different breeds of Nephentes / pitcher plant here!
Surrounding the mossy forest, we saw a lot of wild berries growing at the ground. It was said to cause stomach discomfort for those having a sensitive stomach. After a round of googling, it is called Partridge Berry.
That's our 4WD from the booked tour with Gerard's Place. The road going up is not easy with lot of potholes that sometimes impossible to avoid due to narrow route condition. The tour at the mossy forest was fantastic. I have never seen any mossy forest here in Malaysia before this and by far this is beautiful and hopefully, the authority will take good care of it.
It's fantastic place:)
