Tmall World (天猫海外) under Alibaba group hosted ‘Tmall World Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner’ event at Setia City Convention Centre saw 1000 invited guests turned up as they prepare to celebrate upcoming Lunar New Year festivities. Guests of the night included nearly seven hundred Malaysian consumers, local partners and merchants as well as approximately three hundred children from five charity homes across Klang Valley.
The mega reunion ‘style’ Chinese New Year Dinner event held in Shah Alam today, featured internationally renowned artist Michael Wong, more famously known as GuangLiang(光良) with the aim to appreciate the support of its Malaysian consumers and give back to the community during this auspicious season.
“It was amazing to not only be able to share the upcoming Chinese New Year festivities with Tmall world and my Malaysian fans, but the kids from the charity homes as well. It was a really meaningful and memorable experience for me personally,” said Michael Wong.
During the event, it was surprising to have God of Wealth distributes the Tian Mao 天猫 toy to all guests!
Menu of the night
The celebrations began with representatives from Tmall World, charity homes, Malaysian partners and Taobao users leading guests in a Lou Yee Sang toss; a symbol of good luck, prosperity, health and all things auspicious.
Other auspicious performances of the night included lion dance on high stilts, dragon dance, 24 seasons drum as well as professional acrobatics from China.
There were game booths set up also which allowed guests to try their luck to bring home some gifts from Tmall.
And I got myself an USB cable! The last they had :D
At the event hall, we also had China and local merchants booths which introduced their products to the local consumers! This was my first time heard of MAYSU which claimed as high-end skincare products that selling fast in China.
It was a joyful night whereby we had awesome performances on stage, sumptious food served and gifts to win from the game booths! Definitely I would like to join again if they going to have it next year!
