Desaru Seafood Treat

I already shared about all the interesting places in Desaru. Now, it is time to talk about the local specialty - seafood! One of the places where you can dine by the seaside while enjoying plateful of seafood is Seafood Restaurant located in Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa.  Desaru brings about the meaning "village of the Casuarinas" explaning abundance of Casuarina trees alongside the shores of Desaru.

We had dinner at Seafood Restaurant in Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa on the first night. Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa is a popular beach resort and opened since 10 years ago. The accommodation is built in apartment style with one, two, three bedrooms unit. If I'm not mistaken, there are over 5000 rooms here! On the day we came, the rooms are all fully occupied!

Authentic seafood Tom Yam Kung
Having seafood cooked in Thai style....Those spicy fancy lovers, seafood Tom Yam is surely something you would not want to miss!

Squid RM32/ plate

Deep fried fish dressed with ming kham sauce (daun kodok) RM9 /100gram

Authentic Thai Chu Chi Prawn

Deep fried chicken with lemon grass

Penang Rojak

One of the signature game in  Lotus Desaru Beach Resort & Spa themepark is the Water Coconut! I saw people waiting below the water coconut for the pouring of water when it is full. It looks fun!

Next, Sengat Seafood Restaurant in Teluk Sengat, which is also about 500m from the crocodile farm. The restaurant is located at the seaside and at rural setting.

Fried Chicken RM28

Cold Cuttle Fish RM28

Fried Prawn with butter (RM8 per 100g)

Chilli crab (RM8.50 per 100g)

Even though the restaurant is located by the seaside, the food is not cheap at all. Nevertheless, I have no complain about the food. Above all, the food is halal and can be consumed by Muslim. But the only thing I enjoy while dining here is the scenic tranquil rural setting by the seaside that I cant find in KL:)
