Last month, I was invited for luncheon of ramadhan buffet preview at Ancasa Hotel & Spa Kuala Lumpur. A lavish buffet spread of mouth-watering and authentic Malay cuisine ala ‘Kampung was served.
Themed "Selera Desa", the Hotel’s Malay Chef, Makcik Mariam and its Pastry Chef, Syukri showcased their repertoire of fine Malay traditional dishes and cakes using only the freshest ingredients, cooked according to time-honored recipes during the preview.
The ‘Selera Desa’ Ramadan Buffet will feature more than 120 dishes during ramadhan month including live-action stalls offering traditional favorites like Cucur Udang, Apam Balik, Nasi Kerabu and Satay. Chef Mariam’s specialties include Rendang Itik & Daging Gulai Kawah served with Nasi Briyani. Not to be missed is the Ikan Bakar Station, where one will find a wide array of grilled seafood and meats served with various local dips and sauces.
Here are some food available during the preview session for media:
Live Ghazal music will be performed to add to the nostalgic atmosphere of breaking fast at the ‘kampung’ with family and friends.
Not forget to save some spaces for Chef Syukri’s extensive selection of cakes and Malay traditional delicacies.
The ‘Selera Desa’ Ramadan Buffet will be served daily from 22nd June to 16 July, 2015 from 6.30pm to 10.00pm. Priced at only RM65.00nett (Adult) & RM45.00nett (Child). Private Group Bookings of more than 100 persons can also be arranged. Hurry and reserve your seats early to avoid disappointment.
