Simplyd Grand Launch @ Avenue K

Last month, I was invited for Simplyd grand launch in Avenue K. Simplyd with the theme- Fun, Fresh and Tasty is a new casual dining concept under The Delicious Group.

Simplyd was born out of an idea from Delicious’ CEO, Steve Allen and his love for Malaysia and its amazing array of food. With a simple menu comprising of mix-n-match Pastas, Burgers and Cakes, it lets the crew concentrate on serving a new type of fast food to the Malaysian market. With fresh and unprocessed ingredients unlike those associated with fast food, Simplyd is indeed simple, unfussy, fast, fresh, great in value but first and foremost, tasty.

Steve has been in Malaysia for three years now and in that time, he had noticed there was nothing of its kind here, or anywhere else for that matter. The concept is easy. Simplyd to serve fresh, tasty food in a fun environment with simple but great service! The design concept is based on our Malaysian culture of eating western food and a style of service currently missing in Malaysia.

Steve personally trained all Simplyd staff to be chefs, as well as waiters, baristas and personalities . 

The signatures dishes at Simplyd are very simple: Salted Egg Pumpkin fusilli, Classic Beef Burger and Coconut Pandan cake. There is no need for frills at Simplyd where food and drinks are served in colourful melamine bowls and plates, because food is about food, not what it is served on.

The first Simplyd opened in July 2014 at the bustling Nu Sentral mall, followed by outlets at The Curve and Avenue K. 

A bright colour scheme that is instantly recognizable is adopted. Orange is bright, welcoming and exudes a feeling of happiness and induces a healthy appetite. Blue is the link to Delicious which also means health and tranquillity. Wood and dark chocolate is the background colours, neutral and natural. They accentuate the vibrant contract to the orange and blue.
