Fun Experience @ Homestay Maju Manik, Teluk Intan, Perak

I was quite busy lately and hardly found any spare time to write. Nevertheless, I'm still passionate with blogging ^^  Again this time I will share my travel experience in Perak a few months back. Yeah I'm quite slow in updating it but hopefully you all enjoy what I shared.

Homestay Maju Manik
Frankly I never know that Perak is so much interesting than what I thought. There are plenty of places worth visiting for example The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat that I mentioned previously.

Well, this time I will share about a homestay in Perak, namely Homestay Maju Manik. As usual, we were welcomed with a group of live band consisted of the villagers playing kompang when we came down from the bus.

Upon arrival, we were served with pumpkin puding and mashed tapioca dipped with sambal. Oh I can tell you that the taste is wonderful! This was my first time knowing and having such Malay snack/dessert.

After that, we were ushered to a house which binds with homestay program to pay a visit. I must say it just make me jealous because it is so spacious compared with the place I stay. Overall, it is clean and tidy.

Next, we board on the bus to another place. About 15 minutes, we arrived at quail farm. Anyone never see and touch quail before? I guess this was my first time seeing real quails? Ahh I can't remember :S I guess most of the urban folks never see it especially those born after 1990.

Then we paid a visit to a Bahulu cake factory which is also within walking distance.

Besides bahulu we have kek kemboja (Kemboja cake). I never know its name until need to mention it here...hahaha...(thanks to my Malay friend). For your information, it's not commonly sold at the roadside stall.

What is fun here is that we can sampling bahulu and cekodok which is sizzling hot but fresh out from oven.

The villagers are mostly farmers. Therefore one can see extensive paddy field over here plus stork if you are lucky. I found this awesome plant when I was there. It's called bunga petai from petai tree. Doesn't it look like a mic? Hahaha
