Idyllic Usukan Cove Lodge @ Kota Belud, Sabah

Usukan Cove is a bay area on the coast of Kota Belud. It is located adjacent to Kuala Abai, where the jetty to Mantanani Islands is situated. It is a mere one and half hour drive from Kota Kinabalu, a journey fills with scenic view of paddy fields, rural neighbourhoods and a picturesque sight of Kota Kinabalu.

Usukan Cove Lodge is nestled on one of the eight beautiful beaches within Usukan Cove, encircled by several fishermen's villages. Usukan Cove Lodge is a backpacker's lodge offering accommodation facilities and sea sports activities. Tourists can opt for overnight packages or day trip excursions.

Usukan Cove Lodge has 16 rooms. The room configurations are as follows:
Family room (1 double and 1 single bed): 4 rooms
RM 289 includes breakfast
Quad room (2 double deckers): 10 rooms
RM99 per head includes breakfast and dinner
Triple room (3 single beds): 2 rooms

Usukan Cove Lodge can accommodate a maximum of 80 pax for room accommodation (extra mattress). The recreational area can be turned into a sizeable camping site for a 60 pax capacity. Bathroom facilities are on shared basis complete with hot shower. Other facilities include a dining hall, a multipurpose/ meeting room, snorkeling platform, sea walking platform and boats. Their spacious lawn can be converted into recreational/ sporting and function/ BBQ areas.

Usukan Cove Lodge offers various leisure activities. For marine life lovers, one can indulge in snorkeling be it at the shore or a short boat ride near Pandan Pandan island. For adventure seekers, seawalking activity is also available where one can enjoy in proximity the colourful underwater creatures. Usukan Cove is also a well known place for divers as Usukan Bay dive site is largely unexplored and close to mainland. It is suitable for rookie divers to widen their skills while enjoying the unique fringing reef. For seasoned dive enthusiasts, Usukan Bay is also a promising excursion for a macro dives.Other water sport activities include kayaking and banana boat.
