Last month, I was invited as blogger to Sepang Avani resort (formerly known as Golden Palm Tree resort) for covering MoU ceremony between private sector and NGO for implementation of voluntarism adoption initiative at Bagan Lalang beach. Not only for that, I went for another activities afterwards....
We gathered at Matic, Jalan Ampang and got on the bus sponsored by Mayflower to the resort. The whole journey from Kuala Lumpur to Sepang took about 1 hour.
At the registration counter, there was a few banners showing the 1 Voluntarism program. I was told that was also National Blue Ocean strategy.
Voluntarism Adoption Initiative: Beautifying and cleaning the Bagan Lalang seaside, Sepang is one of the strategic initiative of Malaysia Tourism to ensure the tourist spot of the nation is always at the best condition in term of cleanliness and thus ensure Malaysia always becomes the best destination and 'Top of The Mind' among the tourists.
The whole ceremony took just less than two hour for speeches and video presentation as well as signing the MoU. Actually I much awaited for the next program :)
Before we leave, we have a chance of snapping a few pictures of the resort. That's a breathtaking view of the resort! From the top view, chalet houses at Avani resort are being built in rows like a palm tree.
So after having our lunch at the resort, we were all brought to Banghuris Homestay. Feel honourable to be welcomed with a troop of Kompang players by the time we were arriving.
Then, each of us also being served with fresh coconut water.
That's a nice thing to have it during a hot day.
That's tasty! Look at me, I was sweating not because I worked under the sun but the weather was hot that day.
The mayor of the village welcomed us with a simple speech and followed with song presentation by local villagers.
While enjoying the music, we lined up to get our food.
Just now we had our lunch at Avani, but we were not enough and our stomachs half full as we ate in rush and now we were spoiled with more here :)
I love durian...how about you? Yeah we can ate till full here as they had a lorry with durians to serve us.
Coming next was song presentation by a young local arising star. (sorry I don't know his name btw)
After feeding up with all the nice food hosted by the villagers, I decided for a walk around the place. Just a few steps from where I sat and enjoyed my late lunch, there was a fishing pond.
Look at the pail, there was some fishes from the pond.
This young man was there teaching us how to fish using the stick and thread.
That was my second time fishing.
Next, we head to rubber plantation that was a few stones away from the fishing pond. I guess you already what we gonna do here right?
That is how rubber plantation look like!
There was an demonstration beforehand and now my turn trying to tap the rubber tree.
Frankly speaking, we need some skills on it. Otherwise, the juice would not come out.
That was the fun thing when we successfully did it!
Then we were being shown how the rubber being processed using the machine.
Then we were brought to a bamboo forest. I heard this place is a hot spot for taking wedding photography. What do you think?
Due to time limitation, we only able to experience part of the activities available at Banghuris Homestay. There is plenty of interesting activities such as batik painting, tree planting, traditional games and dance learning, coffee plantation visit and etc.
