The establishment of the Second Friendship Village (also known as the Malaysia-Thailand Second Friendship Village) is rooted in a combination of historical, political, and social reasons, primarily linked to the close relationship between Malaysia and Thailand, as well as the Chinese historical background in the region. This village, located in southern Thailand near the Malaysian border, emerged in the context of the Chinese revolutionary era and the activities of the Malayan Communist Party (MCP). Here are the key reasons behind its formation:

The Second Friendship Village is closely tied to the history of the Malayan Communist Party (MCP). During the mid-20th century, the MCP operated in the jungle areas near the Thailand-Malaysia border, particularly establishing strongholds in southern Thailand.
